Macromedia Fireworks & TYPO3 Templates

In this tutorial we will demonstrate how easy it is to use Macromedia Fireworks to generate HTML templates for TYPO3 using a single graphic file and exporting it into image slices and HTML. This method of design allows the designer more freedom in a pure graphical environment and is generally faster than manual coding.

Step 1: Slicing Image File into HTML

This is the graphic file illustrating what a client wishes their TYPO3 template to look like. The layout is fairly standard so this should take less than a day to complete if we recycle and modify Typoscript and CSS from Nouvo and Mediatech templates... I'm afraid are offline for the moment. I haven't got the time to do it atm;)

The process of slicing a single image file into a HTML template requires the use of Macromedia Fireworks, Adobe Photoshop or a graphics editor with the image slice feature. We will proceed to demonstrate how this is accomplished using Macromedia Fireworks.
