There are several ways to achieve this. You can learn TemplaVoila or an extension called Content Access and Extended Interface Control ( tm_contentaccess ). tm_contentaccess supports up to 10 columns.

Thread: Number of columns
Thread: 5th column?

I rarely need TemplaVoila and use the traditional Modern Template building template model, which is easier for new adopters to pick and for typical projects. The advantage of TemplaVoila is flexible content elements or FCE's.

If you are considering TemplaVoila for adding columns be sure you understand the basics behind the traditional Modern Template building Method (MTB) before moving to TemplaVoila. It's fairly easy to transfer an MTB template and TS to TemplaVoila.

So Typo3's columnar model provides 4 sections that content can be added to: 'Right', 'Left', 'Border' and 'Content'

Which works perfectly for me, but what if I got 5 sections How do I configure the 5th section??

In the template you can have...getLeft() getRight() getBorder()...but how to reference the
5th element?

and how you configure the fifth element in the Typo3 UI? because the UI only allow to have the 4 sections maxmium.

Thanks in advance!
