I don't have much experience with RTE configuration... since there are so many other configuration options I'm still trying to master

Have a look at the TYPO3 support forum for coding, Typoscript and general hints. I did a quick search for "Paragraph Drop RTE" and found this.

I am having trouble fully understanding the RTE htmlArea configuration.
In the RTE, what is the difference between the Paragraph Selector box and the Text Selector box? And where exactly do the entries in their drowdowns come from?
I guess I thought I could use the Text Style selector to change some selected text to a different style than everything else is on a line, but that's not how it works.
Also, Is it possible to change the names of the Paragraph Drop down from Heading 1, Heading 2 etc. to something more meaningful?
