Hi Greg,
I don't think that the multi language installation cause the problems because the install order was always the same (1.installation of the standard package, 2. set default language to German).
I will post this E-Mail to the forum (without usernames / passwords). If he can help us, it will be also a good idea to forwarding or CCing our communications (and also this E-Mail) to Michael. For testing purpose, I have created some snapshots (see my last e-mail).
As soon as I have time I'll reinstall www.swissprotectionservice.ch (in the "correct" order) with cbstarter 0.9.9 without commenting out localconf.php and let you know if there will be any issues.

Hi Mike,
This is good information. I have never tried a multi language installation so I'm guessing this may have something to do with your issues?
Let us continue to communicate over the forum if possible. This will help other people and businesses will similar issues participate in developing a solution hopefully.

I have been communicating your information to Michael Cannon who is the author of cbstarter. Michael has made changes to cbstarter localconf.php based on information provided by you and other people.

I think it may be safe now to try cbstarter without commenting out localconf.php now. Please let us know if there are any issues. Would you like me to begin forwarding or CCing our communications to Michael Cannon at http://cannonbose.com? He is the expert on cbstarter ;)

Dear Greg,
Thank you for writing me. I deleted the TYPO3 installation on www.freireisen.ch yesterday and made a new installation in the following order:
1. Installation of the standard package (TYPO3 4.11 - Source with Dummy site .ZIP)
2. Set default language to German (over Extension Manager-Translation handling / Users)
3. Installation of tinyrte, w4x_backup, phpMyAdmin, uninstallation of rtehtmlarea
4. Clear caches --Note: all extensions are working properly now ;-)
5. Installation of zlightpro in accordance to the install.txt (with cbstarter + TSsetup-ADxMenu.txt)
6. comment out the cbstarter localconf.php
7. Clear caches
What a lucky day, all extensions are still working properly ;-) It seems, that I must install the extensions bevor I can install cbstarter....very strange......
On another customer-site (www.swissprotectionservice.ch - which is already online), the same problems still exists (the extensions doesn't work and the editors tinyRTE / rtehtmlarea doesn't work correctly).
If the problem can't be found, I will have to reinstall this site (and also 2 others) and install the extensions in the "correct" order.
Any idea of what might be causing this strange behavior?

Hi Mike,
Have you tried updating the database after uninstalling cbstarter using Tools Install 2: Database Compare?
Once cbstarter is removed the database tables need to be updated. I have more time this week to help troubleshoot.
Greg

Dear Greg,
I hope you received my last e-mail message (see below). Up to now I had unfortunately no success to fix it. If I uninstall cbstarter or realurl I receive some other error message, it's very strange ;-)
If you have time, you can try it out (I will delete this installation next week and make a new clean installation....).
As soon as I found something out, I will write you.

Hi Greg,
Well, first of all let me thank you very much for taking time ! ;-)
I personally don't think, that this is a problem of the Full Backup extension, because on another installation of TYPO3, on the same provider (but without the cbstarter) the extension is working properly.... and also, other extensions, for example the Typo3_backup, doesn't work either :-(
For testing, I have deinstalled the Full Backup extension, commented out the cbstarter localconf.php and cleared the cache. Now, when I click on the left menu the phpMyAdmin-link, I receive the following typo3 error message: "Error! Reason: Segment "typo3conf" was not a keyword for a postVarSet as expected!".
Tomorrow, I will have time to make more investigations on this problem (it's now 0:30 am here in Switzerland and I have to get up very early this morning......
I will let you know when I have found out the cause of the problem.

Mike,
There most likely is an extension conflict here. I don't have this problem on my sites when I click on Tools phpMyAdmin so I'm thinking if you remove the Full Backup extension this may clear up the problem since this is the only extension I'm not using.
I noticed you did not comment out the cbstarter localconf.php file so there may be a conflict here. Try commenting out this file first. I've attached an example for v.0.9.8. typo3conf/ext/cbstarter/scripts/localconf.php.
Let me know what you find out so I can forward the results to the authorif this is the problem.

Hi Greg,
I have read your answer in the TYPO3 Forum at Mediatech.
Hopefully tommorow I will have time to make a test-installation with ADxMenu.noext.txt and without the extensions (with ADxMenu.noext.txt).
- New website, fresh installation: www.freireisen.ch
- Older website, similar problems: www.swissprotectionservice.ch
On both sites I have the same problem with the extensions: if I click on the link in the Tools-menu, it gives a 'HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found' error.
At the backend of www.swissprotectionservice.ch there's also a similar problem with the editors htmlArea RTE / tinyRTE:
When I try to insert a link, it gives me a 'HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found' in the pop up window :
Any idea of what might be causing this?
thanks for any input !
