well, i have not found what i was looking for so i have applied passwd protection on the pdf document itself.

The only way I know of protecting files with a password is by using access protection I'm afraid. Do let us know if you find what you are looking for please... that would be a great tool to have

as far as i can see in this demo its restriction is based on user/usergoup authorities. my need is different, since i'd like to assign separate password to each document, regardless of general access authorities.

do you know a way to achieve it?

You can do this with the extension Modern Downloads (ab_downloads).

If you login as a FE user johndoe/123456 you will see that the categories Media (0 downloads) and PDF (0 downloads) contain Media (1 downloads) and PDF (1 downloads)

Hi, I am looking for a way of restricting access to documents on the frontend.

I share lots of documents linked on pages. When user clicks on a link of a document, would have to enter the password for the document, then would be able to download it. Another document, another passwd.

I suppose there is a way to make it, but haven't found it, yet.

Anyone has an idea, pls let me know Thanks.
