Thanks for your reply, I'll try the things you suggested. I do think it will be harder on typo3 because with drupal you can easily define types and fields for these types (and then you're done). But I'll try typo3 anyway. I'm not sure if a zip code search will be an option because even in the Netherlands the zip-code table is about 200Mb big and I do not have that much space right now....

I'm not aware of an out of box yellow pages solution however, with a little programming and or outsourcing, it should not be an expensive feat to implement. Both Drupal and TYPO3 are powerful and complex systems so patience and/or money will make a difference

I used a combination of Frontend User Registration (sr_feuser_register) and Front End Users View (feusersview) to allow members to create company profiles via the registration process. This could be extended even further to allow for zip code search and other database fields. You could also alter the template to show only company profiles instead of human resources.

These are good extensions for application building if you have some database knowledge:
DB Integration ( wfqbe )
DB App builder ( auxdataviewer )

Subject: Yelow pages in typo3
I need a system which basically sort of is an online version of the yellow pages. So I have stores that can be listed and a search system to find them (based on geographic location).

I am very certain that I think Typo3 is a "better" system then Drupal is. However, for a new website there are certain "flexible" parts with Drupal that are really nice for making new content types and I would like to have that for typo3 as well.

Is there any extention, or a combination of, with which I can create my version of the yellow pages like I easily could have done with the drupal taxonomy + cck modules? Of course I don't need an exact same solution as Drupal has as long as I can create a listing...

Replies (if easier for you sand allowed) may also be in German, I understand it perfectly fine.
