Hi,

I followed the process of upgrading a few times, according to the online tutorial. However no sucess.

The problem, or the issue was that the username/password for the Mysql that i was given, even though with admin privileges, wasn't good enough. When they gave me root u/p, the upgrade worked in right away, and everything behaved as it should, and now i have v4.0.

It is really strange that i didn't get a message, you have no privileges to do this, or something. I wasted 4 days on this. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I now have another issue, but i will post it as a new thread, as it is not related to this thread.

Are you using the .zip file install or sym link method?

Either way what I recommend is to backup your current database, do a fresh TYPO3 4.0 installation then replace the new database with your old backup database.

Also backup your old backup your old fileadmin, uploads, typo3conf/ext and /typo3temp/pics and replace the new ones with these.

Last you'll need to go to Tools > Install > 2: Database Analyser > Update required tables COMPARE to bring the old 3.6.2 database up to 4.0. Run Tools > DB check and Update reference index too.

Hi everyone.

I am currently upgrading Typo3 from 3.6.2 to 4.0. I followed the typo3.org guide for upgrading.

When i copy over the source files, and do the install tool with database compare, import and clear cache.

The admin backend shows version 4 is installed but all of my pages and contents are not there, website doesn't show in front end. The database and its contents are still in tact.

I revert back to 3.6.2. all pages show and website works.

Can anyone help me and show me the way to have version 4, and all pages show?
