I haven't used workspaces yet however I ran the error message "Online record was not in versionized branch!" through Google and it appears there are some kinks here and there.

Running an advanced search for Workspaces Issue at http://support.typo3.org does reveal more discussion.

If this is a mission critical business need I recommend contacting the developer(s) directly if you require commercial support. Dmitry Dulepov of http://typo3bloke.net has written the Manual for Workspaces.

I did run accross an extension providing better previews for workspaces here. Please let us all know what you find out with EXT: Workspace Preview

We are trying to use Workspaces and have run into several problems. I have searched the TYPO3 forums and posted the question, with no response. We have setup User Groups and Users correctly for using the Draft Workspace, however, when in the draft workspace we see the following problems. Note that we are not using Custom workspaces, although we have tried this in a custom workspace and saw the same issues.

1. When trying to add a new sub-page we get the following error message:
Could not be edited in offline workspace in the branch where found (failure state: 'Online record was not in versionized branch!'). Auto-creation of version not allowed in workspace!
It adds the page anyway, but the user setup to publish the page can not see the page in the workspace in order to publish it.

2. After editing content in the Draft workspace and previewing it, the split screen that shows the Live Version and the Draft Version are exactly the same. it doesn't show the changes in the Draft version. The right side of the screen shows the differences, but the preview does not.

Is anyone using workspaces, run into these same problems and solved them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
